Shaheed Reza, PhD

i am an Associate Professor at the Department of Fisheries Technology, Faculty of Fisheries, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. i joined the unversity as a faculty in October 2002, and still serving the same.

besides teaching at BAU, I worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, (BSMRAU), Gazipur from April to December 2010, and taught Fisheries Microbiology-1 and 2 at BS (Fisheries) level.

i obtained PhD from the Laboratory of Aquatic Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Department of Aquatic Bioscience, Graduate School of Agriclutural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo in March 2009. i was working under Professor Shugo Watabe and my research topic was "Genetic relationship between two closely related pufferfish species, torafugu Takifugu rubripes and karasu T. chinensis."

currently I am working on antibiotic resistance of microbial flora residing in fish and shrimp, and using PCR-based methods to detect pathogenic microorganisms in fishery products of Bangladesh.
