Shaher Handous

Possessing an extensive entrepreneurial background, Shaher Handous has led diverse companies in the commodities trading and health care sectors. Originally from Lebanon, he gained early experience in electronics sales. Once in Canada, Shaher Handous established a firm that served the needs of aviation clients in North Africa and the Middle East. The firm, which provided dedicated engine and aircraft maintenance services, represented companies such as Air Canada and Seattle-based Quiet Wing Systems. The company also maintained extensive contractual relationships with commercial and government airlines throughout the Middle East.

Mr. Handous additionally guided a successful commodities trading venture that dealt with goods such as cement, sugar, and grain, and spanned associates from Europe to South America. He also assisted the type 1 diabetes-focused Edmonton Protocol and established a consulting firm that helped to create awareness about the clinical islet transplant programs in the Middle East, Africa, and India. Shaher Handous’ sustained efforts enhanced formal diabetes training in a number of countries.
