I am an Emmy-nominated producer and director, and as described by Global Voices, a "veteran war reporter." Born and raised in Uzbekistan, I have been living in the UK for the past 20 years.

Over the last two years, my work has focused primarily on Ukraine. I produced and directed Ukraine's Stolen Children (Renegade Stories for ITV, 2023) and Children of Ukraine (Renegade Stories for ITV, 2022). I am also one of the producers of Freedom on Fire (2022), a powerful documentary directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Evgeny Afineevsky, chronicling Ukraine's struggle for freedom since the Maidan revolution.

My film EXILED (2018) presents a comprehensive account of the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar, tracing atrocities dating back to 1978. It remains the only documentary to feature both the architect of Myanmar's genocidal policies and their Rohingya victims. In researching the film, I collaborated closely with organizations such as UNHCR, the International Red Cross, Human Rights Watch, and both Myanmar and Rohingya activists.

I also co-produced Cries from Syria, a feature documentary that traces Syria’s trajectory from the 2011 revolution through the civil war, the rise of ISIS, and Russia’s military support for the Assad regime. The film was directed by Evgeny Afineevsky.

Previously, I worked as a news and current affairs producer and reporter with the BBC (UK) and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (Czech Republic). I have produced several documentaries, two of which received major international awards. Airport Donetsk—the story of the epic battle for Donetsk Airport—won Best Documentary at Artdocfest 2015. How to Plan a Revolution, which followed young opposition leaders in Azerbaijan fighting against authoritarianism, was awarded the Prix Europa for Best Current Affairs Television Programme in 2006.

I am honored to be a recipient of the Courage Under Fire Award from the International Documentary Association.

I am perhaps best known for my BBC Panorama investigation, My Fake Passports and Me, which exposed the European black market in forged travel documents.(https://vimeo.com/44804266)
