I have always tried not to overlook the small things. I have always been taught from school and my parents that the smallest things often make the biggest difference in our lives. This idea of appreciating the finer details is why I have always been drawn to art. The majority of people usually overlook art when thinking about hobbies or interests. However, art has always been a big interest of mine. Personally, I cannot draw very well. So I like to appreciate the people that do have the talent to convey a thousand words into a single picture. I have always been attracted to drawings that tell a story. This is because the story I may decipher from looking at the drawing can be vastly different from the story someone else might have thought of from looking at the drawing. And the great part is that there is no one right answer. With art, we have the freedom to choose what we see. These are some of the reasons why I have started my own art collection. I have spent time shopping at thrift stores and flea markets because this is an inexpensive way to buy art that might have been more expensive when it was first sold. When deciding which pieces of art to buy, I try to focus on the details. The more details an art piece might have, the more stories that it may tell.
