A retired anesthetist who practiced for two decades at JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, California, Suresh Shah is a real estate developer whose portfolio includes malls, apartment complexes, and office buildings. Recently, he celebrated the grand opening of Mission Lakes Market Place, a shopping center in nearby Desert Hot Springs with 67,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space. Completed in 2014, the shopping center is expected to create over 100 jobs when full and generate substantial revenue for the city. In addition to running his own real estate development company, Suresh Shah serves as president and CEO of Desert Cities Real Estate School, which offers high-quality classroom instruction for prospective real estate agents.
Suresh Shah is also a dedicated philanthropist, creating the PGA DUI program to offer free rides from bars and restaurants, and making significant donations to SafeHouse of the Desert and the Street Life Project. In 2014, Coachella Valley Weekly named him Philanthropist of the Year.
