Shakiyla: shah-key-luh

Louisiana

I picked the font for my name simply because it's called "Swingdancer"

My moms taught me how to spell my name when I was 4 years old.

I'm named after the Poor Righteous Teachers' song, "Shakiyla". They were a 90s Hip-Hop group. She was a woman of royalty in an Aftican village. She was known for her purity and upstanding position amongst the people. A respected woman.

I get asked about my name a lot.

I want to adopt.

I love to smile & laugh.

I'm usually the person that keeps laughing once everyone else has stopped, I've accepted that flaw.

My heart yearns for a city undivided.

I grew up in a really small town with very little expectations from the people around me.

I serve the Lord Jesus.

Anytime someone opens up to me a take it as my responsibility to prove to them that they didn't do it in vain.

The only reason I know how to love is because my God loved me.

...but I'm still learning...

When I see men playing with their daughters, inevitably, I get chills.

My family inspires me more than they'll ever know.

I'm scared of being scared to love.

I like chocolate and pizza.

I speak of colors as if they're emotions.

I'm generally YELLOW.

but if i get RED, walk away.

I like to pray for people without them knowing.

I'm an emotional writer.

I like lists.

That's pretty much all i can think to say that can assist you in deciding whether or not to follow my blog.
