Courtney Cady

Courtney Cady is a visual anthropologist and philosopher working in the fashion industry. Based in Los Angeles, CA, Courtney is a designer and apparel production manager by profession, and a visual artist by custom.

In 2009, Courtney received two bachellor's degrees from the University of Southern California in Visual Antrhopology and Philosophy. With no formal training in design or manufacturing, Courtney uses her academic interests as the basis for her work both profesionally and creatively.

Since 2004, Courtney has worked under the name Shallow Fashion. Shallow Fashion manages apparel and accessory production through materials sourcing and contracting connections for the designer in need.

Courtney Cady and Shallow Fashion play active roles in the future of the Los Angeles apparel industry, standing as a memeber of the Los Angeles Fashion Council, and an adviser for the City of Los Angeles' Made in LA initiative.

Courtney also just recently launched her jewelry collection, Bagtazo. The collection is inspired by global cultures and their various body adornments, spawning from her interests in Anthropology. Bagtazo is made in limited quantities, created exclusively in Los Angeles, and much of the jewelry is handmade.
