Shamaz Denerson

Currently, I am a student at Salem College located in Winston-Salem, NC. I will graduate with the upcoming class of 2013, with a major in psychology and minor in religious studies. For a little bit more about me, I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I come from a traditional family and my parents are Thomas and Shernette Denerson. I am the oldest of their five children whom, including me consists of three boys and two girls. Coming from a family with quite a number of children, I have developed a great passion for working with the youth. My plans for the future are to apply my study in psychology in the area of art therapy to improve the health and well-being of adolescents. A general definition of Psychology is the study of human behavior and mental processes. I have applied my experiences throughout the study of this science to research introversion and extroversion and how these personality types affect a child's performance in the classroom. I plan to further my education with the completion of a master’s degree in art therapy and license or credentials.
