Shameka Rodgers

Shameka Rodgers is a 22 year old nurse and graduate student at UAB. She is originally from a small, rural town in southern Alabama named Georgiana. However, she moved to Birmingham to attend school.
Shameka also known as DJ Mek will be hosting her first radio show this Fall on blazeradio.org entitled Body & Soul. The show will consist of tips to nurse your body and music to noursih your soul. Check out the show starting in September on Tuesdays at 10 am.
Her radio show is only a few of her endeavors during her experience at UAB. She has participated in many organizations including UAB New Student Orientation, UAB Residential LIfe, UAB Athletic Marketing, and her sorority SIgma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
She is currently pursuing various endeavors to build her profile to live out her life's goal of being a talk show host and materializing her plans for a hometown community center and community based ministry targeted towards adolescents.
