Writer, Editor, and DJ in Newark, NJ
Journalist/DJ Shamika Sanders-Sykes (aka Pinkie Tuscadero) is a music aficionado who has always kept music at the forefront of her life.
In 2008, she became a DJ and played on the local scene until she was invited to tour with Barbara Tucker ("Beautiful People") in 2011. She has played with DJ Spinna, Chuck Chillout, and many others since then.
With writing as one of her other passions, Shamika decided to start a blog in 2010 called Memoirs of a Party Girl, where she blogs about music, interviews artists, and covers music events. Her interviews with Jack Thriller in 2013 helped her hone her skills, and she became one of the site's writers. Her writing skills have been featured on several music sites. Her firecracker personality and unfiltered outlook on the music industry led her to become one of the most outspoken individuals in the industry.
She is a contributing writer for the lifestyle publication, Urban Magazine. She has over 15 years of experience working with independent artists, hip-hop legends, and fashion week runway coverage, as well as stars of some of TV's top shows, with no signs of slowing down...and yes, she still spins to this very day!
She is currently part of the YNVS DJ Coalition, the 45 Bandits, and the Raiders of the Lost Art Vinyl Collective. She was currently a featured DJ on Shade 45's "Sway in the Morning" and "The Lord Sear Special."
