Shana Dietrich

My name is Shana Dietrich and I live to help other people realize the true meaning of their lives. I am currently attending Arizona State University in the iTeachAZ program where I will graduate in December of 2014. Along with a full year of student teaching, I am also a Rodel Promising Student Teacher placed with an amazing mentor. Although I have loved my educational experience so far, the time has come for me to graduate and move on to the next milestone in my life. I am looking for a career as an Elementary or Middle School Educator in Arizona.

Aside from working as an assistant teacher at a local preschool, I enjoy occupying my time with numerous volunteer opportunities. I work and volunteer for an organization called notMYkid where I speak to middle school and high school students about Healthy Relationships. I also volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a Big Sister. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona recognized me as an Outstanding Big Sister, and awarded me the "Big Thanks Award". My most recent volunteer adventure was going to China over the summer to help teach English, and learn more about this wonderful profession that I am pursuing.

Although volunteering is a passion of mine, I am very eager to move into the next place in my life as an Elementary School Teacher. I know that there are so many ways that my future school district, along with fellow teachers, can change the lives of students every single day.
