Shana Kimball

Shana leads the development of a new initiative at The New York Public Library Labs to engage technologists, scholars, and other digital practitioners in new uses of the Library’s digital collections and data sources, and to host conversations and incubate experimental projects that explore the future of public knowledge.

Prior to joining NYPL, she was Head of Publishing Services, Outreach, and Strategic Development for Michigan Publishing, the primary academic publishing division of the University of Michigan. Shana regularly participates in conversations on topics such as open access, the transformation of scholarly communication, libraries, digital humanities, and alternative academic careers.
