Fundraising Executive in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

After 13 years in Sales, I made the decision to transition into the non-profit world. Long story, short, I wasn't happy with my career, and, so I made the decision to 'shake things up'! Despite the prospects of making good $, I didn't enjoy what I was doing and it didn't give me a sense of pride. I took some time off of work to explore various roles where I could leverage my strong business development ability, superior relationship building skills and extensive sales experience.

During my quest to find a new career, I discovered a number of interesting roles within the non-profit/fundraising sector. As a result of hard-work and perseverance, I received an interesting offer with Crohn's & Colitis. After some soul-searching, I accepted the offer, and within a week I had packed up my life & moved to Calgary! Being in a new province and new industry gave me tremendous insight into the fundraising world and further enhanced my relationship-building skills! Although I enjoyed being in Alberta, I truly missed my friends and family back home. I made the decision to resume my career exploration on new roles that would bring me closer to my loved ones. After several painstaking months of trying to find 'the right job', an incredible offer presented itself to me back in Ontario. Once again....I found myself packing up my life, and moving back to Toronto to work for Prostate Cancer Canada as their Senior Manager, Events. This role proved to be 1 of the most challenging of my life, however, it gave me the chance to work with a number of interesting people; including Don Cherry (NHL personality), Marcel Dionne (NHL Legend), Mayor John Tory, Councillor Norm Kelly (Toronto), and Olympians Mark McKoy & Donovan Bailey. Although it was an exceptional time in my life, I still had this burning desire to do something more with my career!

As of September 2016, I find myself resuming my career quest in the hopes of landing something even bigger and better! I'm not sure where I will end up next, but, I'm certain that my drive & passion will propel me to something that will truly make me happy. I encourage you to reach out to me on LinkedIN if you know of any interesting opportunities that may be a good 'fit' for someone like myself. Although I've spent the past few years working with Health charities, I'm not going to limit myself to this industry, and will consider any option that I feel will present me with the best career opportunity.
