Shane is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine candidate (2018) at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. At PCOM, Shane is president of the Dermatology Club, vice president of the American Medical Student Association, involved with Relay For Life, several other medical speciality interest groups as well the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society. Shane is also a member of the American Medical Association, Student Osteopathic Medical Association, American Medical Student Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and is a student ambassador for the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. Shane is interested in the biological sciences, public health, cooking, and music.
Shane received his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Science with an Organizational Leadership concentration from PCOM in 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Gettysburg College in May 2013. Shane currently serves on the BOLD ('Burgians of the Last Decade) Council and is also part of the KARE (Key Alumni Resource Effort) Program at Gettysburg College. He was the Orientation Coordinator for the Gettysburg College class of 2016 and the First-Year Experience Coordinator for the class of 2015. He was also actively involved with the Campus Activities Board, Colleges Against Cancer, and the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
This past summer, Shane was a research assistant at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the division of pediatrics, section of dermatology. He has also interned at National Medical Services Labs in the Special Chemistry department, where he screened human biological samples for a variety of drugs and compounds.
