Hi! My name is Shania. I was from a wonderful island named Trinidad. Trinidad is home to many things including the steel pan, one of the largest roundabouts, and the BEST food place. This food place is named Rib House. The sauce is to die for. Every time I go back, I go there 3-5 times in that week. The workers remember me even though I go there once a year. Trinidad holds a special place in my heart, especially since most of my father's side of the family still lives there. Additionally, Trinidad has one of the best carnivals, which isn't a place where you can play games and ride rollercoasters. Carnival in Trinidad is when people jump in the street wearing extravagent costumes. Trust me. The experience is better than my description of it. Sadly, I haven't been to carnival since 2008 because it is only in February, and I have to go to school.

One fact about Trinidad that I bet you didn't know is that it was the country that created the Limbo in the 1960s. I didn't even know this fact until last year, and I was born there. Furthermore, the first black Miss Universe came from Trinidad. In addition to her accomplishment, Janelle Penny Commissiong was a politician that advocated for black rights. Another unique fact about Trinidad is that it is a "twin" island with Tobago. The reason that they are called twins is because they are 19 miles away from each other. In Trinidad, there is even a separate part of the airport just to go to Tobago.
