Even as a young girl I loved art. I remember seeing Piccasso's work in an exhibition in Germany when I was 10 and knowing then that art would always be a part of my life. Throughout high school, college and afterwards, I worked in frame shops and art galleries. While at Roanoke College, I majored in fine art, and later went to the University of Tennessee where I studied art education. In 2000, I moved to Connecticut, where I worked at The Greenwich Gallery and later at Abby M. Taylor Fine Art as the gallery director. Both galleries dealt in 19th and 20th century American and European paintings and sculpture. In 2005, my son was born, and in 2007 my daughter was born, and I have spent the last few years reveling in motherhood. Now that they are both in school full time, it has become clear to me that it is time to begin sharing my love and talent as a painter and artist with others. In the past year I have had the pleasure of working on commissions of childhood homes of people and portraits of pets and people's family members. Capturing their memories and loved ones in an artful way and as an heirloom that can be passed on fills my heart with insurmountable joy. I work in several mediums including, but not limited to, acrylic on canvas, watercolor, charcoal and pastel on paper. Please look through my work, and if you like what you see, email me, I would love to work with you to create your own personal artful memories.
