I am a Public Administration major with a minor in Religion. This is my second quarter after switching my major from Information Technology. I was persuaded by my peers to enroll into IT, but after the difficulties I experienced in my second semester, as well my lack of enthusiasm I decided IT is not my field. I completed MyMajorMatch offered by FIU, and Public Administration was a suggestible major. I am a sophomore at FIU, but I feel more like a freshman. I earned an Associate’s in Science degree at Broward College in Health Service Administration. While noticing the scarcity of employment in that field, I wanted a major that was stronger and self–explanatory. My expectations from this course are to gain the theoretical principles of Public Administration to be employable to perspective employers (e.g. City of Fort Lauderdale). My understanding of the Public Administration field is that is study of the city and government policies. Also, the degree is universal in various non-Public Administration careers.
I am currently working at ITT Technical Institute in Davie as a Records Coordinator. I am a huge garden junkie. Since the seasons has warmed up a bit I love going to the beach or hanging out by the pool. I have picked up fishing again, and in a few hours I will be “gone fishing.” In the next five years my priority is to have a family and a stable career. My favorite websites to visits are www.houzz.com; and streaming shows on www.xfinity.com.
I am currently working at ITT Technical Institute, with aspirations to change jobs in the future with the same job field; education. Eventually, I will like to transition into a position related to my degree. To best prepare myself in this foreign field my expectations from this course are to gain the theoretical principles of Public Administration to be employable to perspective employers (e.g. City of Fort Lauderdale). My understanding of the Public Administration field is that it is the study of city and government policies. Also, the degree is universal in various non-Public Administration careers. Any additional input to enlighten me on the public administration field?
