Shannon and Breck

We're a couple of kids from North Carolina who have a big dream to travel the world. Together we've already seen Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France but cannot wait to get back to Europe. This will be Shannon's third time in New Zealand, but the most epic so far!! This past Summer, 2015, we drove over 11,000 miles, and probably hiked even more than that around the Western USA. Both of us sleep better in a tent surrounded by the sounds of nature than in the discomfort of our own bed! We are currently planning our next adventure to New Zealand and we hope you will find our blog entertaining and educational as we go about this journey.

Breck was born in Hillsborough, NC and Shannon in New Kent, VA. We met at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Breck is graduating on December 12 with a degree in Business Management and a minor in International Business. And the very next day we fly out of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport at 5:50am to Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii.

(SHANNON) almost 23 years under my belt and I still look at the world from a newborns eyes. I love travel because I love experiencing and seeing new things. Growing up my parents would haul my sister and I ALL over the US, which probably started this obsession. Other than being a nomad half the time I'm also into horseback riding, snowboarding, and hydrofoiling (air chair, sky ski, if you know any of these). I live an active and healthy life and I'm fortunate to have a boyfriend who shares that with me.

New Zealand is an incredible country and exactly what we are looking for in our next excursion. We want to spend more time living out of our backpacks than either of us ever have. We are pursuing the nine Great Walks and over 20 various peaks among the North and South Island. As each day goes by our excitement grows, and our nerves do as well.
