Hi, My name is Shannon. I was born, raised, and currently reside in Roxboro, North Carolina. I have been blessed with six wonderful children, ages 20,16,13,12,11, and 8. I graduated from Piedmont Community College in 2012 with my Associates degree in Medical Assisting. Shortly after graduation I became employed at UNC Healthcare as a Lead Registered Medical Assistant. I have always had a passion for healthcare. Before graduation I worked as a CNA for 15 or more years, providing care to the elderly, sick and shut in, and whomever else needed day to day personal assistance. I have had many instances where I was shown, Healthcare is indeed my calling. The most recent incident involving a 17 year old boy that was involved in a single car crash, just a few months ago. I was one of the first people on the scene. Although he died right before my eyes, I know my attempts to administer CPR, praying over him while he still had life in his young body, and being a comfort to his mother means something special to his family. In my spare time I enjoy couponing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family. I decided to return to the classroom in hopes of earning my BSN. I strive to show my children, regardless of the path you may take in this thing called life, it should never dictate your final destination. My main focus in life is to raise honest, productive children. Yes indeed, it is a tough role to fill as a single mother, but God gives his toughest battles to His strongest ones. Over the years I have learned to do my best, and let Him (God) do the rest. I may fail at many things in life, but parenting will never be one of them.
