Shannon Stark

I'm a teacher with my certification to teach mathematics to students in both middle school and high school. I received my Masters Degree in literacy, teaching students ranging in age from birth through sixth grade. Now I have found myself as a student once again, working towards my TESOL certification. I currently work as a Title I math teacher for a district on the East End of Long Island. I am also spend my time as a tutor and a former teacher's assistant in order to be a role model for students.

Through all of my experiences it has become clear to me that all children can succeed if they are held to high expectations. Further, the best way to understand something is through hands-on activities and the use of problem solving skills that can be applied to every day situations.
