Shantanu Prakash

‘Leaders are visionaries with a poorly developed sense of fear and no conceptof the odds against them’—the line truly reflects the spirit of Mr Shantanu Prakash, the Chairman and Managing Director of Educomp Solutions Limited. Mr Prakash founded the company in 1994, after completing his Master’s in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He aspired to transform the conventional educational practices and wished to infuse technology into school education. His ideas took wings when he got his first opportunity to work closely with the Central Government and the State Government to set up computer labs in schools. His passion to employ innovative practices in education prompted him to equip private schools, too, with digital education. As an expert in instructional technology he has worked extensively in the domain of education management, multimedia content and instructional delivery for over a decade.

Mr Shantanu Prakash, with his entrepreneurial skills, has given a new dimension to the teaching-learning process. Educomp has come up with a number of innovations in educational technology under his leadership. The most recognized ones are smartclassTM, QuestTM, MathguruTM, WIZiQTM, Learn HubTM, LeapTM, and MagickeysTM. Educomp also operates through its various collaterals such as authorGEN, ThreeBriX eServices, Learning.com, USA, AsknLearn and Singapore Learning.

Mr Prakash is the Chairman of the Board of Educomp Solutions Limited and ThreeBriX eServices Pvt. Limited. He is also the Managing Trustee of Learning Leadership Foundation. He is the Chairman of Education Quality Foundation of India (EQFI), a body focused on creating and implementing quality standards in education.

As an educationist with a vision, he has established his own chain of schools all across the country for various sections of learners. The chains of schools include Little MillenniumTM preschools, the Millennium SchoolsTM, Takshila Schools and Universal Academy. Educomp has also ventured into higher education in India, joining hands with Raffles Education Corporation, thus introducing world-class professional development programmes for learners in India.

Mr Prakash is also a charter member of TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), an organization that connects entrepreneurs. He is a frequent speaker at education and business conferences worldwide.
