"I am truly thankful for my life, and health! Why? I am one of the few that placed sickness and depression on the side line." While attending flight school in Oklahoma, Sharif Thompson became seriously ill and was diagnosed with acute kidney failure. Who would ever think that a healthy young man, who rarely visited the hospital prior, would be burden with such a horrible disease that made him change his career path as an aspiring pilot? Few years later, he decides to rebuild his life and admits into North Carolina Central University where he currently attends as a Physics Major. He also plans to further his education with a master's degree in engineering. Thankfully, in January 2013, Thompson received a successful kidney transplant.

Presently, Thompson enjoys reinvesting in his local community by volunteering in food banks, building homes for displaced families, and tutoring youth in math. For future endeavors, Thompson plans to establish a youth centered non-profit organization focused on the educational development of youth.
