Sharika Crawford
I escape the present by examining the past.
I am a social historian of Latin America and the circum-Caribbean with a specialized focus on the experience of African-descended peoples. Beginning in July 2015, I start a four month tenure as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar to conduct research on my book manuscript titled The Turtlemen: Labor, Mobility, and Boundary Crossing in the Maritime Caribbean.
Follow me and my family on our adventures in Latin America and Africa at my blog titled In Search of Tortuga Time.
