Sharna Cook
Pilbara, WA
A slow-blooming photographer, Sharna picked up the camera early but has only recently started getting serious about sharing her shots.
Focusing on animals and macro photography, with a landscape or two thrown in, Sharna is keen to capture what is right in front of her, using the camera to its full extent. She aims for minimal post-production and getting the shot right in camera.
For now - its all about finding her place as a photographer, by sharing the images that she feels passionate about and learning from the feedback she receives.
Living in the Pilbara, in north Western Australia, she's had to come to terms with extreme heat, weather and isolation but its also lending her the opportunity to photograph fantastic natural occurences and conditions.
"I think for me, the aim of my work is to share with people images of beauty that I see as I'm out and about...things that may otherwise be missed. Nothing cheers me more than a beautiful animal shot, nothing grounds me more than seeing a magnificent landscape and nothing reminds me more of how insignifcant we are, and how significant Mother Nature is, than when I shoot macro and see the millions of things going on everyday, all around us, that we never even notice."
Sharna has recently started her own site, animographi.com, where you can see her images and provide her with feedback / comments to help her continue on her journey as a photographer.
