Sharon Ng was born in Markham, Ontario, Canada. She moved to Sudbury, Ontario at the age of 9 with her parents and her older sister, Jennifer. Sharon began playing volleyball in grade 5 and continued throughout her school years. Her dedication to volleyball allowed her to achieve multiple medals, awards and appreciation for this sport. Her passion for volleyball led her to become an assistant coach for her high school’s junior boys volleyball team and, later on, the senior boys team. Being the assistant coach was an introduction into coaching, and sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with the new players. This experience allowed Sharon to pursue education. Sharon was always attracted to Biology from a young age. She found the biomedical field engaging, and enjoyed learning about the human body and the effects of diseases. By becoming a teacher, Sharon hopes to share her passion and love of science to students.
Sharon has been fortunate enough to have multiple teachers that inspired her to go into education. Their enthusiasm for the subject and commitment to their students learning is motivating and encourages Sharon to follow their footsteps. Sharon worked with Frontier College in her first and second year of university, participating in their Summer and March Break Literacy Camps. This allowed her to gain hands on experience with young children early on, where she developed skills such as liability, adaptability and leadership. With these skills and devotion to learning, Sharon is eager to start her career as a teacher.
