Sharon Portin Parker

Since 1994, Sharon Portin Parker has utilized her years of experience in media at her company, Portin Parker Consulting. Throughout her career, she has worked with all phases of content distribution, including network television, basic cable, premium cable, pay-per-view and internet. Sharon Portin Parker’s senior management experience and long-term industry relationships have enabled her to forge long-term consulting relationships with various media entities.

For more than a decade, Sharon Portin Parker provided consulting services to Lifetime Television's affiliate sales and marketing team. Working with the president of distribution, she developed numerous initiatives, including local programs for breast health awareness and advertising tie-ins. Sharon Portin Parker also conducted customer research to understand the network affiliates’ preferences. During the time she was consulting for company, Lifetime Television emerged as the premier network for women and one of the highest-grossing local advertising networks.

In another project, Sharon Portin Parker provided research and recommendations to Comcast Spotlight (the advertising sales branch of Comcast Cable) through improved marketing partnerships and presentations highlighting mutually beneficial technical innovations. She also consulted with nearly 15 media companies in researching ways to enhance revenue potential through advertising promotions, improved affiliate relations and partnerships.

Additionally, her company worked with the Outdoor Life Network (now known as Versus) to increase its affiliates revenues through local advertising promotions, targeted sales strategies and event driven marketing plans. Following her success developing advertising promotions for the Tour de France on the network and her development of the affiliate marketing plan, the company selected her to present her plans at the annual field sales training conference.

Sharon Portin Parker volunteers in her community for the Alzheimer's Association as an Advocate and supports Women of Vision. She relaxes by playing the piano, writing, and traveling.
