Sharon Silva, Nurse
A widely experienced nurse, Sharon Silva has worked for many hospitals and medical organizations in Oregon and California. While she currently serves at Rogue Community College as a Practical Nursing Instructor, Sharon has previously held roles as a contracted Registered Nurse, a Staff Nurse in local hospitals, Assistant Patient Care Coordinator at a local hospice, and a volunteer. At Rogue Community College, Sharon Silva started as a part-time Clinical Instructor. Her responsibilities included grading, evaluating, and assisting students in and outside of the skills lab and clinical setting. Sharon Silva is now currently employed by Rogue Community College as a full time Nurse Educator in the Practical Nursing Program. Also, Silva gained two contracts through the state of Oregon to work with foster children, seniors, and disabled patients. Her first contract, which was granted in 2000, provided Sharon Silva with the opportunity to conduct behavioral and nursing assessments on children who were placed in foster homes in the southwestern Oregon area. She additionally received a contract to work as a Registered Nurse for Senior and Disability Services, where she managed the care of 93 patients in the Illinois Valley.
