Tijuana Baja California, México
My name is Sharon Villarruel Aceves and i borned in Tijuana, B.C. México. Im studyng the language teaching carrer at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). Im in my second year of the carrer but i have worked teaching since 6 years ago. My area are children, i have more experience teaching kids from 3- 12 years old, more than any other age. My passion are children. Before getting into the carrer i studied Social work at High School and i made several visits to different schools to assist elementary school children with their personal problems. This was my first contact with children in a formal and educational way. After High School i studied a one year course to get prepared to be a Bible teacher. But this course include more than just techniques to teach the Biblie it was also about how to manage students conduct in the classroom, how to create a lesson plan, how to make students to get interest in the topic you are teaching, how to create games and activities to make the classes more interesting, and a lots of other many teaching techniques. After this my next experience with kids was to work as a Director in a Civic Center located in a low class community. This is the place were I work until now at days. My work here is to help children in risk to follow a better future than the one the streets and addictions can offer. Some of the activities we do at the Civic Center are: to teach children English, to help them with their homeworks, to teach them values, to teach them about the Bible, to give them breakfast, to give them lunch for school, to take them out to camping trips, and many other things. Because of this i wanted to study the Languages Teaching carrer and now im in the middle of it and my goal is to finish this carrer and then to open my own Languages School.
