Student in Athens

I started dabbling in music in middle school. I went to Dodgen Middle School in Marietta. My first instrument was the double bass. I started off just playing with the regular orchestra. In about a year, I auditioned and made the Chamber Orchestra. We were a nationally recognized group and performed at the United Nations in NYC, Universal Studios, and Disney World. During the time that I was in Chamber, I auditioned and made the Symphony Orchestra at GYSO (Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra). This was exposure to a higher level of music for me. In the fall of my 8th grade, our band director approached me with an Electric Bass and asked me to join the jazz band. This was my first time playing an electric instrument and I LOVED it. In the summer after I graduated middle school, my parents bought me my first electric guitar. Even though a guitar only has 2 more strings than a bass, the learning curve was still pretty big. I’d play for almost 2-3 hours everyday to the point where my fingertips were destroyed. In the summer of my sophomore year I joined a band. We performed at local parks and restaurants around our city. At the same time I was posting tik tok videos of me playing, and taking song requests which began to gain traction. I was having the time of my life, with my bandmates, family, and friends….. and here came covid.
