Hello! I’m Shawna Hight.
I'm a teacher, student, mom, wife, and athlete.
I teach Sophomore and Senior Language Arts and English Language Acquisition at Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I am a USA Pickleball Ambassador and USA Pickleball Credentialed (Level 2) Referee. I am also an IPTPA Certified Pickleball Coach and enjoy working with women and children. I am co-leader of Tulsa Ladies of Pickleball - an inclusive and supportive group of female pickleball athletes.
I live in Jenks, Oklahoma, with my family. I love reading, hiking, skiing, kayaking, playing pickleball, and running. I am a proud KINeSYS Sunscreen Champion! Ask me about how to stay safe and protected in the sun!
I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Literacy, Language, and Culture from Oklahoma State University. My research areas are literacy, minority, and LGBTQ representation in literature and dialogue. I completed a Master's degree in Literacy in 2017.
