Shawna Mann
Traveler, writer, computer programmer and hardware expert, and computer store owner, quantum physics student at university, patron of the arts, a vegan walking softly, honouring our history, and respecting our future children. For my writings, Google: shawnatmann where you will find many of my blogs. My preferred drink is Tetley with milk. If I am feeling adventurous, I will have chamomile. If you think I look crazy, if you met me you would say I am just plain nuts. I speak a lot of languages, but none perfectly fluently. First languages were: English, and French, with alittle German mixed in. School was mostly in English. Skype: shawnatmann if you wish. People say I have an accent that they cannot figure out. It is sort of a combination of where I have been and the people I have met, and the rest is sort of a mental illness thing, as I have been diagnosed with mania/hypomania. I speak rapidly even when I really try hard to slow down. Kind of a rapid steccatto. I have also been told I might have asperger's syndrome, but I some how missed out on the traits like intelligence and such, probably because of my inability to really focus on any one subject well, despite my best efforts. I have been told I am above average intelligence, which doesn't mean much really considering what is average. I used to frequent the mensa group in Victoria, BC, but I am too off the wall for their liking, and at the time, I was focussed on theoretical physics and maths more so than the average attendee. Apparently there are few people who care about that sort of stuff the way I did. I was in Toronto but I couldn't adjust to the hustle and bustle of the big city, so I am going back to my island in the Jervis Inlet, BC, where I will do less psychosocial harm to society.
I relate well with Descartes find myself quoting him whenever it seems to relate to an occasion, either to myself or something I read, hear, etc.
Lately, when thinking of a certain politician, I recall King Louis XIV saying, "L'etat c'est moi" (I like to pronounce it like I heard the French did, sort of laytah say mooay) I love to learn new languages too as best I can. My roomates in Toronto spoke Arabic, so I learned some words and phrases, particularly to do with chess and tea, my favorite pasttimes.
Thanks for reading, whoever you are, wherever you may be. Write to me in whatever language you choose, on whatever subject that interests you. I will reply.
