Shawn Frank

I am a software programmer and a little more. I graduated as a merit student from the University of Wollongong in Dubai with a degree in Computer Science. After university, i worked with a distributor of Mars chocolates in the region as a systems support and solutions development architect.

I am currently working as a Web and mobile developer and consultant for a media company, Map to Media. Having a job has not slowed me down as I do a lot of software competitions and projects at the side with some friends.

Our biggest acheivement is representing the UAE at the Microsoft Imagine Cup, the most prestigious software development competition in the world. I enjoy developing software and learning about new technologies.

I strongly believe that Computer Science and Software development is one of the best courses anyone can do as you can actually bring your ideas to life. I strongly believe ideas are more important knowledge. Knowledge can be acquired, ideas can not.
