An an entrepreneur and military veteran, Shawn Joyce holds experience as co-founder, information technology director, and marketing lead for outdoor challenge company Raider XP. Created in collaboration with combat decorated special operations Marines, Raider XP invites participants to learn leadership skills and strength of character while following decorated veterans through high-intensity, high-stress challenges. Shawn Joyce has worked closely with injured veterans since his own days in the military, when he played a key role in pioneering the Marine Corps' Wounded Warrior Battalion-West unit.
Shawn Joyce joined the United States Marine Corps in 2004, following his graduation from the computer science program at Jacksonville University. Honored as the senior Marine Corps cadet in the university's Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program, he arrived in Jacksonville after transferring from the Virginia Military Institute,where he served as the Honor Court President. He served the Marine Corps for more than eight years, during which time he received honors for his volunteerism and outreach work. Joyce left the Corps in 2012 as a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles' entrepreneurship program for veterans. Joyce then went on to found Discovery Care Group, a global healthcare access company that he continues to lead as president.
