Shawntrice McQueen Andrews
Mother, Volunteer, and Teacher in Raleigh, NC, USA
Hi, I’m Shawntrice McQueen Andrews. I’m a compassionate educator, committed professional, and someone who’s always led with heart. For 20 years, I taught at a small charter school in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I did far more than teach—I became a part of my students’ lives and a pillar of the community.
From the very beginning of my career, service has been my driving force. I started out with a cosmetology license and had a passion for beauty, creativity, and self-expression, but I quickly realized that my true calling was helping people—especially children—grow, feel supported, and succeed. That’s what led me into education, where I spent two decades pouring my time, energy, and love into the school and every child who walked through its doors.
I was the person who arrived early, stayed late, and volunteered for everything—parent nights, open houses, school plays, cultural events, even leading a trip to China for our students. I helped fundraise to make sure kids from low-income families could have life-changing experiences. I bought uniforms, styled hair, and stepped in whenever a student needed a little extra care or encouragement. I was known for being the calm in the storm—the one who could bring peace when tensions rose, whether it was between students, parents, or staff.
When the school closed in 2022, it was incredibly emotional, but it also gave me the chance to step into a new chapter. I transitioned into real estate and property management, where I’ve been able to use the same skills—empathy, organization, communication—to help people find not just houses, but homes.
My mission has never changed. Whether I’m guiding a student or a family, I’m here to serve, to support, and to make sure people feel seen, respected, and cared for. That’s what drives me. That’s who I am.
