Shaygan Kheradpir

Business and Technology executive Shaygan Kheradpir has served as CEO of Juniper Networks and Barclays over the past few years. Barclays is a global retail bank headquartered in London. Juniper is a networking company in the Silicon Valley.He began his career with GTE Laboratories being involved with network routing, management and control. He became chief information officer at GTE and in 2000 GTE became part of Verizon. At Verizon he started as president of the E-business division. He later became the company's first CIO/CTO.He was known at Verizon for innovations and reducing costs, which increased profits. He is credited with helping the company diversify its range of services and automation of some operations. He created small teams that came up with and developed new ideas for products and services. He came up with a 30-day prototype cycle to quickly test ideas and devices. He was also credited with reducing spending on technology by 30 percent.Kheradpir was educated at Cornell University, where he received his bachelors, graduate and PHD in electrical engineering. He was born in London, England, raised in Iran and attended high school in Switzerland before moving to the United States. His father was an ear, nose and throat doctor.
