I am an 18 year old student at East Norfolk Sixth Form in Gorleston-on-Sea, currently in my second and final year old A Levels in mathematics, physics and sociology. Following these studies I plan to study for a degree in mathematics at university with the intention of going onto a PGCE which will enable me to teach mathematics at high school level.

Outside of academia, I am a passionate practitioner and instructor of the Korean traditional martial art of Kuk Sool Won. I have been training in Kuk Sool for over thirteen years and in this time have achieved my second degree black belt, qualifying for application for third degree and gaining qualification in instructing as well along the way. In April of 2016 I was privileged to be offered the role of instructor of an ‘advanced juniors’ class which is an opportunity I took up with great enthusiasm and I still occupy this role today. I have also partaken in numerous International competitions for Kuk Sool and have taken away over ten medals, including one gold.

I also have a keen interest in travelling and discovering alternate cultures, an interest I’ve been extremely lucky to have been able to explore since a very young age, having traveled to five of the seven continents numerous times. One of the amazing experiences I have had overseas in volunteering at the Mercy Centre orphanage in Bangkok which my family were able to raise almost £2500 for in order to provide days out for the non-English-speaking orphans. This was a life changing experience and I would urge everyone to do something like this both for personal development and to provide for the less fortunate.
