Shayne Gad, PhD

During his time as Principal for Gad Consulting Services, Shayne Gad has provided expert witness testimony in cases regarding worker’s compensation, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and occupational toxicology. He maintained this role for more than 15 years but has narrowed his focus to working diligently to provide preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and statistical study support programs for more than 400 clients in over 27 different countries. Shayne Gad has been authored or edited 43 books, including the Handbook of Product Safety Evaluation and the Drug Discovery Handbook. He also wrote many articles that have been published in journals such as the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health and the Journal of Fire Sciences. Furthermore, Shayne Gad provides a wide range of expertise for his clients through Gad Consulting Services, which serves as consulting firm for United States and international development initiatives. He offers training programs for individuals who want to know more about the non-clinical safety evaluation of drugs and biologics as well as biocompatibility evaluation of medical devices and biomaterials, two topics Shayne Gad taught courses on in 2010. He also provides consulting services regarding neurotoxicology and is actively involved in adult, juvenile, and developmental neurotoxicity evaluations. He even originated the rodent functional observational battery, an assessment tool that relates the neurobehavioral activities of a rodent’s brain. Outside of Shayne Gad’s role at Gad Consulting Services, he has presented several lectures at academic institutions and professional meetings around the country. He spoke about alternatives to animals in toxicology at a Society of Toxicology (SOT) meeting, and he later presented his findings on the refinements of animal experiments in toxicology for another SOT meeting. Throughout his career, Shayne Gad has become known for his comprehensive understanding of toxicology. Furthermore, his knowledge of biotechnology and several other industries have afforded him many opportunities for success in his professional roles and as an author and contributor.
