David's favorite question is "why"?As a Senior Reporter at WFAA-TV he gets a chance to put that curiosity to work, everyday.In 2014 David led the production of a 1-hour documentary about a high school football team that helped lead the emotional recovery in the town of West, Texas after an explosion killed 15. "Rise Up, West" won the 2015 national Murrow Award for Documentary TV.In addition to back-to-back national Murrow's, David's also won two Scripps Howard National Journalism Awards, a National Headliner Grand Award and 15 regional Emmy awards.Fairness and accountability are critical parts of David's work. So is having fun. He is a University of Michigan graduate and a Poynter Institute Ethics Fellow.David enjoys speaking to kids of all ages who are eager to learn more about journalism.
