Sheelagh Semper

Always learning in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

A beneficiary of settler colonialism, I currently live and work in amiskwaciwâskahikan in Treaty 6 territorial lands.

With practical experience in instructional design, e-Learning development, classroom facilitation and project management, I endeavor to apply adult learning theory and analytical skills to inform accessible learning design and delivery practices. I model an inclusive leadership style, with an emphasis on ethical decision making, diversity, and continuous learning.

Well traveled, I have lived and worked in various provinces in Canada as well as in the US, India, and the Philippines.

In my spare time, I founded and chaired the Edmonton-based non-profit Alberta Browncoat Society (2009-2024; Firefly/Serenity fan group) and was a founding member of the Whisky Belles (2016-2020). In 2024, I joined the board of the California Browncoats, a 501(c)3 non-profit.
