Sheetal Tayal
Student, Consultant, and Software Engineer in Lille, France
Hello World! Sheetal here. Welcome to my world. I have thousands of stories to tell you. Let's start with the small ones shall we?
In a nutshell, I am a very creative and passionate individual determined to make a difference in this world.
Focusing on my personal life, I have been brought up in the small city of Kota (Rajasthan) in India. “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” - As remarked by Eleanor Roosevelt, living in a small city didn’t stop me from aiming high. I ventured to MIT Manipal for my undergraduate degree (Bachelors of Engineering) in Computer Science and Engineering.
I was an above average student (7.57/ 10 CGPA). I always learnt by the pragmatic approach of ‘learning by doing’.
It was a dream come true when I got multiple offers in the placements of MIT such as Samsung, Oracle and TCS including an offer from my dream company, Oracle.
I started my professional journey as a tester for Oracle Retail Global Business Unit. Gaining deep insights about the operations of a product development company and hands on experience with the POS software suite and its complex integrations, I moved on to a role of a Software Engineer as a full time employee at Oracle ISE.
I would like to throw some light on the uncharted territories I've dwelled upon. I started working as a freelancer after graduating to understand the complexities of different industry in India and Internationally. This gave me a huge opportunity to work in different departments like marketing, operations, communications, research etc.
Aiming to combine my core of IT with the Business studies, I joined to EDHEC Business School. After a brilliant academic and student life, I joined a start-up as Business and Data Analyst in Belgium famous for procurement.
After a huge accomplishment of entering into the European market, I got my big break as I joined Ernst & Young (EY) as Marketing and Business Intelligence Intern and then a part time employee as BI and DA Expert.
Now to finalize my studies on a grand note and to become a Strategy Consultant, I have returned to EDHEC for my MSc in Strategy, Development & Digital Transformation with a concentration in Strategy Definition & Critical Thinking.
If you are still with me, thank you so much for reading my story. I really appreciate it and hope to meet you someday. :-)
