During my years there I performed everything from inpatient and outpatient coding, compilation of hospital statistics, quality assurance reviews, utilization coordination in-house and in conjunction with insurance agencies, chargemaster reviews, and many others. I served as HIPAA Officer for 3 years and held many committee positions issues such as documentation improvement and even fund-raising. During my time as HIM Director and as an HIM Instructor, I also performed independent consultant work for neighboring healthcare facilities performing inpatient facility coding and physician office ER E&M assignment.

I am currently a member of both the AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) and HFMA (Healthcare Finance Management Association. I also received my AHIMA Approved Train the Trainer Certificate in the Summer of 2013. I am currently 2 courses away from acheiving a Master in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration and anticipate finishing this degree in March of 2015.
