Shelley Bernhard

This is the author’s first publication. Shelley’s interests include music, books, writing, travel, meeting new people, and children’s rights. The author resides in Colorado with her husband and their little dog, Charlie.

I wrote this book based on my personal experience in raising my son, my love for him, the passion I have for children’s rights, and what I consider to be a real mother. I want mothers to know that raising a child is a lifetime commitment that also has a lifetime impact on a child. Each stage of a child’s development brings its’ unique challenges and so much joy!

Because this book provides an educational quality that shows who and what a “real mother” is and what a child deserves, I believe that it can have a positive impact on society. It provides children with the value of books over technology, through the human interaction involved when a mother reads to her child, and through looking at the beautiful and expressive illustrations.
