Growing up in a suburb of the San Francisco Bay Area, Shellie Ferrer was a notable young athlete and gifted musician. From her accomplishments in softball and soccer to playing the French horn, flute and piano, Shellie was frequently celebrated in her local newspaper. There was little Shellie did not participate in, and today recalls those early years and experiences with gratitude, as she wholeheartedly believes the camaraderie and dedication learned through healthy competition and team work lay the foundation for a solid start in life and business.

As a hard-working and resolute young teenager, Shellie was determined to gain some independence and secured her first job bussing tables in a restaurant. Being a diligent young worker, she was quickly promoted to hostess, waitress and some management duties. During this time, Shellie fell in love with the hospitality business and culinary arts. She desperately wanted to see the world and grow within her field. At that time she decided to pursue her dreams, and applied for school at the Culinary Art Institute in Firenze, Italy. Upon her acceptance, she readily left the United States for Firenze where she began her studies as a young student of the culinary arts. While in Italy, Shellie honed her culinary skills in both her coursework and extracurricular activities. During her time off, Shellie attended private culinary lessons, traveled, explored the local farms and regions, discovered wine pairing and cheese making, and she fell in love with Adrian, the man she would later marry.

With the surety of world as her oyster, Shellie returned to the United States, where she attained her first job as a trained chef in a restaurant in San Diego, California. With her masterful skills, she was soon working as a line cook in several 5-star restaurants. As is Shellie’s independent and determined nature, she decided to take it yet another level and opened her own small restaurant and catering business. She was an immediate success and was soon organizing large scale events. Shellie loved the event planning facet of her work and eventually moved on to Park City, Utah, where she currently owns and operates Shellie Ferrer Events, a full service event production company.

On a personal level, Shellie has always felt extraordinarily grateful to have had the support of strong female role models in her life. It has been her mission to give back, and by making an effort to be that strong supportive figure, she h
