Shelly Choi
Born in a small town in South Korea, I lived in a city called ‘Kyung-Ju,’ where it is famous for historic sites. I lived there for about nine years, until I moved to United States. I have a family, who is always there to support and encourage me. My mother, father, and older sister currently live in South Korea, and I am here in America to finish my education. Ever since I was a child, I was known to be active and passionate in playing sports. And I still love to play any kind of sports. But to pick out my favorite ones, I love tennis, golf, bowling, swimming, and badminton. The only sport that I suck at is soccer. I would love to learn how to play soccer, because I find great joy I watching soccer tournaments, especially the World Cup. When I am with my parents, we go to field and play golf. Since my parents love golf, I was kind of forced to learn how to play golf. Eventually, I ended liking golf very much. I have a sister, Julie, who is not active at all. She’s the total opposite of me. If there is one active thing that she likes, it would be shopping. I also have a dog name “Jjong.” I don’t know if you can pronounce it right, because her name is in Korean. She is a precious white Maltese. She is part of our family now. I am currently a fresh Bulldog. My major is International Affairs, and I’ll probably minor in Japanese. With skills and knowledge I learn from this course, I want to work in an embassy or Congress in Korea. I want to become famous and have that platform to influence people’s lives. I want to speak for those whose voices cannot be heard. I want to be the one who seeks justice and fights the corruption involved in politics.
I want to travel to places like Europe, Carribeans, China, India, Mongol, Austrailia, and so much more. I like taking photographs. I am not a professional photographer, but I like collecting cameras, especially manual ones.
I am a follower of Christ. Before any other identity, I am a daughter of Christ. I want to be able to live my life for Jesus Christ, because He is the truth, light, and life. Without Him, I am nothing.
