Shelly Vohra

I have been teaching for over 10 years and have taught most grade levels from K-8. I am currently teaching grade 8 Math, Science, and French. My speciality and passion also includes technology integration in the classroom.

I have lead and co-led several professsional development workshops in critical thinking, reading, culturally responsive practices, brain compatible learning, and technology.

I have also had the privilege of writing a variety of educational documents in Geography, E-Learning, Science, and Math.

I am passionate about equity and social justice and believe one of the best ways to incorporate these issues in the classroom is through a "Big Idea" and an "Essential Question". Students need to be able to share their knowldege, experiences, and views with the world through the use of a variety of technolog tools.

It is vital that we remember that technology needs to have a purpose; it should not be used for the sake of using it. Technology is a tool and not a learning outcome.
