Shelton Powell
Founder & CEO of Cart Capital in Florida, USA
I’m Shelton Powell, an entrepreneur and the founder of Cart Capital, an ecommerce infrastructure company focused on building scalable, system-driven online brands. I was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, with Jamaican roots, and that background shaped how I see responsibility, work, and long-term success.
I started working at 15, using every paycheck to fund my first ecommerce ventures. At the time, I thought football might be my path, but I quickly realized my real focus was business. When I discovered ecommerce at 16, everything clicked. I became fully immersed, building brands while still in school and learning how digital businesses actually operate.
At 19, I left traditional employment to go all in. I started working with influencers, building merch brands, and developing backend systems. Over time, I created frameworks that made scaling more structured and repeatable, which led to the creation of Cart Capital.
Today, I focus on building systems, not chasing trends. My goal has always been to create infrastructure that makes growth sustainable. I’m also building a digital community to show people there are alternative paths to success if they’re willing to take ownership and figure things out.
