Шербото Токомбаев
Gestalt Therapist, Director of Bishkek Gestalt Institute, and philosopher in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
I am a Gestalt therapist, supervisor, lecturer, and the Director of the Bishkek Gestalt Institute. In my practice and academic work, I advance a process-field approach within the Bishkek School of Gestalt Therapy, integrating contemporary Gestalt therapy, phenomenology, and process philosophy.
I completed my clinical training through MIGiP and a joint program with Gestalt Associates Training Los Angeles (GATLA), studying under Jay Levin, Robert Resnick, and Lynn Stadler. My background includes over 20 years of clinical and field experience, serving as an addiction consultant in the penitentiary system and an international expert for the OSCE, BOMCA, and CADAP across Central Asia.
I view human experience not as a static collection of psychological traits, but as a unique, dynamic event emerging at the boundary of contact with the world and others. My work focuses on identity, relational dynamics, crisis, addiction, and personal growth.
