Sherean Malekzadeh

marketing consultant and Small Business Owner in Brookhaven, GA

Hi, I’m Sherean! I’m a marketing consultant living in Brookhaven, GA, and I'm running for the Principal's Advisory Committee. I've worked with a number of children's organizations before, including:

  • Project Safe Place(teens in crisis) - National Volunteer of the Year
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters - I was a big sister and also wrote the marketing brochure for their Kentucky and Indiana chapters
  • Fox Kids Club - I started and grew the 3rd largest kids club in the country and produced over 400 educational segments for kids
  • Rolling on the River Producer - I wrote and produced a documentary for children on the history of Louisville
  • Creative Writing Teacher - I taught creative writing to elementary and middle school kids at an arts program
  • Business Teacher - Jr. Achievement Project Business
  • Students Organized for Somalia- Founder of this relief effort which raised enough money to feed 40,000 kids during a famine

Additionally, I have served on several boards of directors of nonprofits including:

  • The Edge Connection - I was also on the exec committee for this nonprofit that trains micro-entrepreneurs with a focus on women, minorities, the disabled and veterans
  • Georgia Lawyers for the Arts
  • Peachtree Creek Greenway - on the advisory board

I currently serve as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Brookhaven. My son is in 9th grade: we were new to DCSD this year and have a unique perspective and a few ideas on process improvements. Mostly, I want to serve as an effective voice for the parents and student body and a liaison to the school. You may reach me at: [email protected]
