Sheree Rayford

Sun Prairie, WI

Hello, there! My name is Sheree and I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. There’s nothing super special about me, I’m just an ordinary midwest girl who has recently decided to deactivate my Facebook. I know what you’re thinking… How will you survive?! But surprisingly, there is life outside of Facebook, and it feels GREAT! Haha, but seriously, it was a long time coming. One day as I scrolled absent-mindedly through my news feed, I realized that I was constantly checking Facebook updates and not caring about a single post — ok, that’s not fair, I did care about some posts, but the majority were useless to me. As I scrolled past another photo of a half-naked, half-drunk friend at a bar, I thought to myself, “why on EARTH am I dedicating so much time to a source of valueless information?!” I decided to deactivate my Facebook immediately! After the initial uproar from friends and family demanding an explanation–I seriously got texts a few minutes after I clicked the final “deactivate” button– I was relieved that I had no remorse. I was, however, shocked and humbled at the response from my family and friends. I never thought people actually valued my opinions, or much less looked forward to my posts! So, I decided to create a blog dedicated to sharing my everyday thoughts, opinions and ideas. Although I still don’t feel Facebook is worth the time it has now taken up in our world (Facebook Home… c’mon!), this blog will hopefully be a place where I am able to share random musings of my mind with whomever is interested. I hope you can relate to my posts and that I am able to pass along something that you will benefit from. Please feel free to comment with questions, concerns and share your own insights.
