Pavel Sheremet
Born on November 28,1971 in Minsk.
Education: Studied for 3 years in the History Department of Belorussian State University.
He later matriculated in the Department of International Economic Relations at Belorussian Universityof Economics.
Work experience: In1994-1995 authored and presented a weekly analytical program on Belorussian TV.
In 1995 - 1996, heworked as Editor-in-Chief with 'Belorusskaya Delovaya Gazeta'.
From September 1996,worked for ORT ("Russian Public Television", or - as it is now known- "Channel One") as Head of the Belorussian Bureau, andEditor-in-Chief of the ORT Correspondent, Net department, Acting Director ofthe News Program Department.
From July 1999 toMarch 2000, presented the 'Vremya' analytical program on ORT, worked as a headof the Special Projects Department for Channel One Russia.
In December 2005 established the "Belarusian Partisan" www.belaruspartisan.org,socio-political website, which has become one of the BelarusianInternet's most- visited.
From June 2009 to 2012 works for "Kommersant" Publishing House.
Now Pavel Sheremet is the observer and Executive Director of the newsletter «Украинская правда» Pravda.com.ua and Belarus Partisan.
Achievements: Authorof 30 documentary films: "Chechen Diary", "Wild Hunt", "1991:the Last Year of the Empire", "General Lebed's Last Height".
Winner of severalinternational documentary film festivals.
Author of severalbooks, among them "The Accidental President", on Lukashenko,"Saakashvili. Georgia. Dead dreams", and a textbook for TV reporters.
In 1995, was awardedthe prize of the A. Adamovich Belarussian PEN-Centre as the Best TV Reporter inBelorussia.
In 1998, received an award from the Committee to Protect Journalists for his contribution to furthering free speech.
Nominated for the 1999 TEFI Prize of the Russian Television Academy for "BestReporter", finalist for the 2001 TEFI in the category of "Investigative Journalism" for his film "Wild Hunt" (kidnapping people in Belarus), and nominated for the 2003 TEFI in the categoryof "Best Journalistic Program".
Received the 2002 OSCE Parliamentary Assemblyprize 'For Journalism and Democracy'.
